The WORX WG350E is a 20V cordless chainsaw with a 30cm bar and brushless motor. I’ve found it a good choice for occasional garden work, whether cutting branches or dealing with the odd tree.
It offers useful cutting performance for the price without the hassle of petrol or extension leads. The main limitation is battery life. With only one 4.0Ah battery supplied, longer jobs can mean stopping to recharge.
For smaller cutting jobs and occasional garden maintenance, though, it’s a practical and affordable option, particularly when discounted.

For the occasional branches and garden jobs I use it for, the WORX WG350E has been a good buy. It cuts well for the price, and although one battery limits longer jobs, it’s more than capable for my needs.
What Is the WORX WG350E Like to Use?
Cutting Performance
The WG350E has plenty of cutting ability for occasional garden work. Its 30cm bar and 10m/s chain speed make it useful for tackling thicker branches and smaller logs that would be awkward with a mini pruning saw.
Most of my gardening work doesn’t require a chainsaw, but occasionally I’ll have branches or a tree to deal with. For those jobs, the WG350E has proved more than capable, especially for the price.
WORX advertises a cutting capacity of up to 25cm diameter, although that shouldn’t be treated as a recommendation for inexperienced users to tackle large trees.
For regular firewood processing or sustained heavy cutting, I’d choose a more substantial machine.
Battery Life and Charging
Battery life is the WG350E’s biggest drawback. The supplied 4.0Ah PowerShare Pro battery is adequate for my smaller jobs, but more extensive cutting can mean running out of charge before finishing.
WORX claims up to 55 cuts through 10 × 10cm hardwood per charge. That’s a manufacturer test figure; actual endurance depends on the timber, cutting conditions and chain condition.
The supplied 2A charger takes approximately two hours to recharge the battery, so having just one can interrupt longer jobs.
If you already own compatible WORX batteries, that’s less of an issue. Otherwise, I’d try the supplied battery before deciding whether a spare is worth buying.
Handling and Chain Maintenance
At approximately 3.9kg with its battery, the WG350E is a conventional two-handed chainsaw. It’s more substantial than a mini pruning saw but offers the convenience of working without petrol or an extension lead.
Chain tensioning is tool-free, and the automatic lubrication system helps keep the chain oiled during use.
You’ll still need to fill the 140ml reservoir with suitable bar and chain oil before first use, check the level regularly and keep the chain sharp and correctly tensioned.
As with any chainsaw, use suitable protective equipment and follow safe working practices. Tree felling and other hazardous work require appropriate training and competence.
How Does the WORX WG350E Compare?
The main distinction is between a full-size cordless chainsaw and a smaller pruning tool.
| Model | Bar Length | Best For | Main Trade-Off |
|---|---|---|---|
| WORX WG350E | 30cm | Larger branches and smaller logs | Limited single-battery runtime |
| WORX WG324E | 12cm | Smaller branches and pruning | Much lower cutting capacity |
The WG324E is more convenient for light pruning, where the WG350E would be unnecessarily bulky. The WG350E makes more sense when there’s thicker timber to cut.
Both use the WORX PowerShare battery system, making them particularly useful for gardeners who already own compatible tools.

Is the WORX WG350E Worth Buying?
For occasional branch cutting and garden clearance, I think the WG350E is a good-value cordless chainsaw.
It’s particularly attractive when discounted. WORX advertised the complete kit for £139.99 in October 2026, compared with a regular listed price of £207.99. At the higher price, I’d compare alternatives before ordering.
The main compromise is the single battery. If you’re regularly cutting large quantities of timber, the cost of additional batteries may make a more powerful setup worthwhile.
For the jobs I use it for, though, the WG350E has been a good buy. It cuts well, avoids the hassle of petrol and gives me enough capability for the occasional bit of tree and branch work.
Verdict: A capable, good-value cordless chainsaw for occasional garden maintenance, particularly when discounted or paired with existing WORX batteries.
